Our Shared Standards

Every participant — buyer, seller, or visitor — is expected to engage with respect and honesty.

• Treat makers and collectors with courtesy in all communications.
• Provide accurate information in profiles, listings, and orders.
• Do not harass, discriminate against, or intimidate other community members.
• Respect intellectual property — do not copy maker designs, photography, or descriptions.
• Resolve disputes through our support team rather than public disputes.

Every piece listed on the archive must meet our quality standards:

• Handmade only. Every piece must be made by the listed maker or their studio. Mass-produced, resold, or drop-shipped items are strictly prohibited.
• Accurate descriptions. Listings must truthfully describe materials, dimensions, origin, and condition. Photographs should represent the actual piece.
• Material integrity. Materials must be safe for their intended use. Food-safe glazes for tableware, hypoallergenic metals for jewelry, etc.
• Fair pricing. Makers set their own prices, but prices must reflect the genuine value of the work. Misleading "discounts" from inflated original prices are not permitted.
• Original work. Pieces must be the maker's own design or traditional technique. Direct copies of another maker's work are not allowed.

Safety is paramount for both physical products and community interactions:

• Tableware (cups, bowls, plates) must use food-safe glazes and clay bodies.
• Jewelry must disclose all metals used, especially for pieces in contact with skin.
• Sharp or breakable items must be packaged securely for shipping.
• Children's items must meet relevant safety standards for the destination country.
• Never share personal financial information in public messages or listings.

The following are not permitted on the archive under any circumstances:

• Mass-produced, factory-made, or resold goods.
• Items made from endangered or protected materials (ivory, certain woods, tortoiseshell).
• Weapons or items designed to cause harm.
• Counterfeit or unauthorised replicas of branded goods.
• Items that infringe on another maker's intellectual property.

If you encounter a listing or community member that violates these guidelines, please report it:

• Use our Contact page and select "Community Guidelines" as the subject.
• Include the listing URL or member name and a description of the violation.
• All reports are confidential and reviewed within 2 working days.

Violations may result in listing removal, account suspension, or permanent ban from the archive, depending on severity.
